Sweet Treat Thursday -- Ladybugs!!

Sweet Treat Thursdays are all about food -- our other favorite topic -- and features ways to embellish/wrap/present something edible. CAUTION: May be hazardous to your waistline!

Hi everyone,

When I saw those darling little chocolate in the candy store, I had to buy them. I figured out I would make them some kind of home before giving them away...

here's their new home:

I love it, it's a very simple box 3½" X 3½" X 1/2" deep, but in order to see the ladybug, I punched some holes in the lid and then transformed them in flowers...

In order to keep them in place, I made some dividers. but I also could have use a simple glue dot (it always depends on how much time you have...)

Now I just need somebody to give it to !!!

Cardstock: Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight, Certainely Celery and Always Artichoke.
Punches: 1-3/8", 1-1/4" and 1" Circles, Fancy Flower and 2-step bird (wing for the leaf)
Other: Tombow liquid Glue, mini Glue Dots, Sticky Strip

Whatever Challenge Wednesday --Sepia !!

Whatever Challenge Wednesdays features a challenge from the blogosphere, chosen randomly.

Hi everyone,

today we.re playing along with Annabelle bling sketch challenge 030 :

Here's what I came up with:

a very simple card tone on tone. I tried to acheive an old look by coloring the image only with Soft Suede classic ink. Once it was stamped in Soft Suede, I just took a damp paint brush an went over all the image, it blurs it a little and add a little old look that I love. I just added some ink to make the "ground", very, very easy and also very, very fast, try it at home.

Stamp Set: A Flower for all seasons, Trendy Tree (sentiment)

Inks: Soft Suede,

Cardstock: VEry Vanilla, Soft Suede, Elegant Soiree DSP

Punches: 2" circle, Scallop border, scallop circle

Other: Basic Pearls jewels, Stamp a ma jig, Stampin' Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive.

Quickie Mini Monday -- Color Coach

Quickie Mini Mondays feature a 10 minute-or-less project -- something fast, fun and easy to reproduce and mass produce.

Hi everyone,

I really love the new color coach, I like to keep it handy but it always seems to be either in the way because untill today, I didn't have any precise place to put it.

I challenge myself to solve this problem in less than 15 minutes and I did it!! Here's how

with a 9" X 4¾" of CS scored @ 1/ on the 4¾" side and @ 1", 4", 5"and 8" on the 9" side.

Just added a little patterned paper and die-cut letters and done.

to fix it near my workspace, I used velcro, as always, here's a tip to make it easy to position, put pieces directly on your project then put the other piec on your project as shown above, when you're ready to glue it in place, just peal the backing and stick in place. It never fails.

Wanna see where I did put mine? Very handy (but not in the way anymore) near my catty and my paper snips. Take a look:

Cardstock: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Basic Gray, Elegante Soirée DSP

Punches: Large scallop oval, large oval

Other: Big Shot, Decorative Strip Wingo Dingo Alphabet (Sizzix) , SNAIL Adhesive, 2-way glue, Sticky Strip, velcro(non SU)

Two 4 Tuesday -- Happy new baby

Two for Tuesday features 2 projects that are similar in either color, theme, layout or embellishment but... with a different twist!

Hi everyone,
When my friend and very talented scrapper Marie-Pierre (go see her amazing stuff HERE) was pregnant with her second sweet baby girl, I made her this card. I was inspired by this "I love U" card I previously made. I just switched the theme to suit my need, and to show you how easy it could be.
I'm really proud of how it turned out, but most of all I'm really proud of Marie-Pierre. She lives thousands of miles away from her family and friends, and also from us. Because I also have two children at about the same ages, I really know how family and friends are needed and appreciated when a new bundle of joy comes home. I really wish she could be close by to lend her a helping hand...maybe someday they'll fly back home I really hope...
I really wanted to included her first daugther Arielle, in the "picture" of the family and in the wishes. So here she is close to her mommy:

Sweet Treat Thursday -- First guest stamper

Sweet Treat Thursdays are all about food -- our other favorite topic -- and features ways to embellish/wrap/present something edible. CAUTION: May be hazardous to your waistline!

Hi everyone,

Today's Sweet Treat was not my creation, I received this adorable trio from my dear friend Caroline, she's an amazing stamper. We try to have a scrap night every friday to do some scrapbooking. Sadly, life being life it's more like once or twice a month but I cherish those scrap night a lot. Here's something she brought me last time we had a date:

Since it is so gorgeous I just HAD to share it with you guys because Caroline doesn't have a blog. So she is our first GUEST STAMPER here on Card à la carte. Please be nice a leave her a comment to tell her how cute her project is. She doesn't own a big shot so all those little matchboxes where done by hand, yes I know, she has a lot of patience.

but wait there's more, she filled them with 3 different kind of Skittles, soooooooooo yummy. Thanks a lot my friend for this little gift from the heart, I love you a lot, see you on Friday !!!

Quickie Mini Monday -- Pumpkins again!!

Quickie Mini Mondays feature a 10 minute-or-less project -- something fast, fun and easy to reproduce and mass produce.

Hi everyone,

Remember last Friday's pumpkins ?? Usually when I do a project, I always stamp twice, this way I have a spare "just in case". I figured that since the stamp is already inked, why not and it really DOES save me a lot of time in the long run. As for today's card is using the second image that I even had colored (since the prismacolors where out, I figured why not ??...) So today I just grabbed that image with a scrap of DSP, added a ribbon and Voilà!!

Here's a close-up of the coloring:

Stamp Set: The more the merrier (retired)
Inks: Black stazon
Cardstock: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Brights Patterns DSP Stack
Ribbon: Old Olive 1/4" gros grain
Other: Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol, Stampin' Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

Sparkly Fun Friday -- Cinderella's pumpkin wishes

Sparkly Fun Fridays features a sparkly or glittery project using shimmer paints, embossing powders, glitters, rhinestones... anything shiny to welcome the weekend in a fun way!!!

Hi everyone,

Today I needed a special card for a special someone, she kinda believe in fairytales and she'll be graduating soon. So I needed something to congratulate her, but most of all to tell her to reach for the stars, and to believe in her dreams...

Here's what I came up with:
How did this happened :
  • First I found the pumpkin stamp from my retired stamp sets and I challenged myself to do something non-halloween with it...
  • Then starring at them for a couple of minute with a stupid smile on my face (the're so cute I just can't help it), I though they would look cute all in a pumpkin patch...
  • it also made me think of Cinderella's pumpkin carriage...
  • Because it's friday I needed some glitter...there came the magic wand!!
  • Since I need to do special cards with a purpose, to whom it would fit ???
  • No sentiment, no problem I have a computer...
Well here you got a glimpse of how my mind works when in card making process, sometimes they come from FAR, FAR away....;O)

I had fun rediscovering my prismacolors with these pumpkins and since I didn't have any sentiments to tell exactly what I wanted, I created one with my computer, thanks to Marie-Précieuse for showing me this white printing technique with a home printer (click here if you can read french).

Stamp Set: Priceless, The more the merrier(retired)

Inks: black Stazon, Versamark, Sahara Sand marker

Cardstock: Whisper White, chocolate chip, old olive, always artichoke and certainly celery monochromatics DSP

Other: Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol, Stampin' Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive, computer generated sentiment and sky, Heat and stick powder, Dazzling diamonds glitter.

Have nice stampin' day !!
